Introduction
- Grease is a semi solid lubricant that is made of thickener, additives and base oil. It is usually utilised in machinery and mechanical equipment to reduce the wear and friction between moving surfaces.
- Depending on the application and operating environment, the base oil may be synthetic, mineral or a mix of them. Grease has its semi solid solidity from the thickening, which is often a complex or metallic soap. This prevents keeps grease from dripping off surfaces.
